Capucin corkscrew by Gérard Depardieu: A wonderful meeting
One of the giants of French cinema, Gerard Depardieu is an epicurean in front of the eternal and passionate winemaker. Indeed, the actor wanted a corkscrew without a lever but with a real pocket knife blade with a good grip. This is how the Capucin corkscrew was born …
Moreover, the Depardieu corkscrew has a tapered bit allowing delicately opening the oldest bottles without damaging or breaking the corks. Furthermore, the Capucin corkscrew has a setting axis and a handle worked carefully from natural essences. These elements make the Capucin corkscrew a true collector’s item. Indeed, this corkscrew requires hours of meticulous work to be mounted, adjusted, polished, shaped and sharpened by hand in the workshops of the Master Cutler Claude Dozorme. Each blade is also marked with “Bon appétit et santé!” autographed from the hand of this passionate artist.
The knife of this corkscrew opens and closes with a Liner Lock system. This knife also has an adjustment wrench which retightens the axis. Finally, the steel used for the knife is X50CrMoV15 steel. This is a very high quality steel giving the knife an excellent cutting edge performance and a very good hold of the wire.
Capucin corkscrew, created in collaboration with Gérard Depardieu, is entirely made in the Claude Dozorme workshops. This is a 100% French and artisanal corkscrew, thought by a passionate winemaker and manufactured by skilled craftsmen.
